Leymah Roberta Gbowee, 2011 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, joined President Michelle J. Anderson for a special lecture in the Woody Tanger Auditorium in April. Gbowee helped lead the Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace that worked to end the 14-year civil war in Liberia.

The Brooklyn College women’s basketball team won their first NCAA Tournament game in program history with a first-round victory over Emmanuel College (Massachusetts), 70-57. The Bulldogs ended their season as CUNYAC Champions with a 22-4 overall record.
